Being a newbie, take it for what it is worth, but I have replicated the IP stack corruption issue on Win32, specifically WinXP. Following is my sys config and the history of events that led to the IP stack corruption: System Configuration: Compaq Presarion 2100 laptop (development environment) Win XP 512MB McAfee VirusScan 7.x * The reason I listed the McAfee is due to a message that pops up after the TAP adapter has been added, stating that McAfee has recognized a change in adapters and has recorded the changes. McAfee has an obvious interaction with the OVPN installation. History: 1. Downloaded OVPN-1.6RC3 and installed. Rebooted. 2. Experimented with the vpn, realizing that, for my purpose, I needed the server ability, available in OVPN 2.0. 3. Downloaded OVPN-2.0Test26 and overinstalled without removing 1.6RC3. Rebooted (there was no message telling me to reboot. I wanted to reboot to start fresh). 4. When I returned from reboot, I had no IP. I tried to restore the Network services unsuccessfully. Finally, I had to reinstall the OS. It was needed soon anyhow. Hope this info helps in discovering whatever causes the stack corruption.
