I am having odd problems. The same ISP is at both client ends of the connection, so that's not the issue.
I am using a FreeBSD 5.0 system, running openvpn, which acts as a gateway/firewall/router for a network.
The client end is WinXP-pro, running openvpn.
All openvpn setups are using 1.5.0

The tunnel instantiates fine. I'm having three different problems, all seemingly on the Windows client-side.

1.) The route option acts too quickly, failing to establish the route, as the tunnel isn't completely built when it runs. I've tried putting it into the up.bat file, but that also runs too soon. The route-delay and up-delay options do not wait sufficiently long before trying to execute, resulting in failure of the routing. (Well, not total failure; the user can enter it manually, but my users aren't the most technically proficient).

2.) I get "GENERAL FAILURE ERROR 31" messages every several seconds. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.

3.) Windows file sharing -- either using SAMBA (running on a different BSD server running on the LAN of the host system), or Win2K (technically still Samba) -- isn't working correctly. The drives can be shared, but I'm having problems browsing the network. Once the drives are mapped on the client (WinXP-pro), they will open, and the drives/folders can be explored (as intended). But, after the VPN is taken down, once its restarted, the drives don't map -- instead, I get a "Device already in use" error. I've considered that it could be issues with my Samba configs, but the computers browse the networks fine when on the local LAN. I am using ip-win manual configurations on the TAP adapters for the XP clients, and the WINS server addresses are correctly set. Any ideas? It could be related to #2?
