openvpn's been running perfectly for over a year. Then I installed gated
and had it run RIP2. And my VPN is no more; no error messages, even with
verb set to 8. I can ping tun0 on this end, from this end. And I can ssh
to the other end and ping tun0 on that end.
The verb 8 log shows openvpn coming up correctly, and it shows sending
packets when I try to ping. But the log on the other end says nothing
about having received anything.
I'm using v1.2.1 in the shared secret mode on RH 7.3 on both ends.
I turned off gated and rebooted the computer - same symptoms.
The route's there as always (openvpn puts it in the table on startup).
The key files are the same on both ends.
The config files are the same on both ends (except for turning around
the ifconfig IPs).
ping puts out the first line about what it's sending where, then just
hangs - it never says anything about the host being down or unreachable
or anything else. When I ctlC out, it says it sent n packets, and
received nothing.
Neither the Internet IPs nor the tun IPs are blocked by the firewall.
