Dear list members, dear James,

even if this is not breaking news, I had such a deep revelation of
how things work, I'd like to share it with you:

Remember, I had strange trouble with my OpenVPN setup as soon as I
turned on any kind of crypto. First it was some strange messages,
with later versions I got segfaults ...

As I initially assumed, it was some library trouble ! On the
machine where I compiled OpenVPN I had openssl v0.9.6a but on my
gateways v0.9.6. Since there is not even a 'make' on the barebone
machines I had to figure out which files to transfer for a library
upgrade. You gurus out there please supress your laughter !

usr/lib/libssl.a
usr/lib/libssl.so
usr/lib/libssl.so.0
usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.6

are necessary on a Slackware GNU/Linux box to get things done.

Now everything works fine ! The gateways are Pentium 133 boxes an I
just watched a PAL video stream using xawtv via the tunnel. The
intermediate 10BaseT segment was at 70% load and the gateways had a
load average of 1.77 (97% CPU for openvpn) ! But it works !!

  Great software !

  Thanks,

  Goesta
